The Bishop Jesse Jones Scholarship Fund (BJJSF) is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Bishop Jesse Jones by providing scholarships that empower underserved and low-income minority families with access to enriched educational opportunities. Our mission is to support K-12 students in achieving academic success by easing the financial burden of private school tuition.
Scholarship Details
Who Can Apply:
• Students in grades K-12 attending or planning to attend a private school.
• Families with demonstrated financial need, particularly those from underserved and low-socioeconomic minority backgrounds.
Scholarship Coverage:
• Scholarships may cover a portion of tuition and/or fees, based on financial need and available funds.
Application Timeline:
• Application Opens: January 1, 2026
• Application Deadline: May 31, 2026
• Award Notification: August 1, 2026
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
1. Enrollment in a Private School: Proof of acceptance or current enrollment is required.
2. Financial Need: Families must demonstrate financial need through submitted documentation.
3. Recommendation Letter: A letter of recommendation from a teacher, school official, or community leader is required.
How to Apply
To apply for the Bishop Jesse Jones Scholarship Fund:
1. Complete the Application Form: Ensure all sections are filled out thoroughly.
2. Submit Required Documents: Include proof of income, a recommendation letter, and proof of
school enrollment.
3. Submit Before the Deadline: Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Applications must be completed online.
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by the BJJSF Selection Committee. Awards will be granted based on financial need, academic potential, and the overall strength of the application.
Scholarship Renewal
Scholarships are awarded for one academic year. Families may reapply each year by submitting a renewal application with updated financial information.
